- Step-by-Step Registration Process [00:38]:
- 1. Access Registration Page: Go to the e-filing portal’s homepage and click “Register” on the right side.
- 2. Select User Type: On the registration page, select “Others” and then choose the “Tax Deductor and Tax Collector” category [00:50].
- 3. Enter and Verify TAN: Enter the organization’s TAN and click “Validate” [00:56].
- Scenario A: TAN available in database and registered with TRACES: Click “Continue” to proceed to the Basic Details page. (Ensure no registration request is already pending).
- Scenario B: TAN available in database but NOT registered with TRACES: Click “Continue” to go to the TRACES page. Register with TRACES, then you will be redirected back to the e-filing registration page to continue with Basic Details.
- Scenario C: TAN available, but registration request already pending: An error message will appear, and you can choose to withdraw the pending registration process if needed.

- 5. Enter Responsible Person’s Details [02:03]: Provide the status, PAN, last name, first name, date of birth, and gender of the person responsible for paying or collecting tax. Click “Continue.”

- The responsible person’s PAN must be registered on the e-filing portal.
- If there’s no surname, enter the name only in the “Last Name” field.
- 6. Enter Contact Details [02:44]: Enter the primary mobile number, email ID, and postal address of the responsible person. Click “Continue.”
- 7. OTP Verification [02:57]: Two OTPs will be sent to the primary mobile number and email ID. Enter the six-digit OTPs received and click “Continue.”
- Important: OTPs are valid for 15 minutes, with three attempts allowed. A countdown timer will show the expiry. Click “Resend OTP” to generate a new one.
