RET00009 error in GSTR-1 Solution

RET00009 error in GSTR-1 usually occurs when you try to submit a return that has already been submitted for the same tax period. It can also happen due to poor internet connectivity or technical glitches on the GST portal.

Here are some solutions to resolve the RET00009 error in GSTR-1:

  • Wait and check again later: Sometimes the system might be processing your return, and the error may resolve itself after some time. Wait for a day and check the status of your return filing by logging into the GST portal and going to “My Returns.” 
  • Raise a ticket with the GST helpdesk: If the error persists, you can raise a ticket with the GST helpdesk, quoting the error number RET00009. You can also include a screenshot of the error message and the time of the event. 
  • Check your internet connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection while filing your return.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, old cached data can cause issues with the GST portal. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies and try again.
  • Use the latest version of the offline tool: If you are filing offline, ensure you are using the latest version of the offline tool.
  • Contact a GST expert: If you are still unable to resolve the error, you can contact a GST expert for assistance.
