  • The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) released updated Time Series Data on direct taxes covering the 25-year period from FY 2000–01 up to the provisional figures for FY 2024–25.

  • The data reflects tax mobilization, taxpayer base, compliance levels, and overall contribution to the national exchequer.

  • Efficiency: The cost of tax collection continues to decline, standing at just 0.41% in FY 2024–25, making India’s tax administration highly efficient.
