How to download ITR-V?
- Purpose of ITR-V [00:03]: This video explains how to download the ITR-V (Income Tax Return Verification) form. The ITR-V is an acknowledgment receipt sent by the Income Tax Department upon successful receipt of a taxpayer’s Income Tax Return.
- Importance of ITR-V [00:11]: If a taxpayer files an Income Tax Return but does not e-verify it with a digital signature or e-verification code, they must physically post the signed ITR-V to the Central Processing Centre (CPC) in Bengaluru. Failure to do so will invalidate the return.
- Prerequisites for Downloading ITR-V [00:35]:
- A valid User ID and password for the e-filing portal.
- You must have already filed your Income Tax Return.
- Steps to Download ITR-V [00:43]:
- Log in: Go to the e-filing portal and log in using your valid User ID and password.
- Navigate to Filed Returns: After logging in, go to the “e-File” tab, then click on “Income Tax Returns,” and subsequently click on “View Filed Returns.”
- Download Receipt: On the “View Filed Returns” page, click the “Download Receipt” button next to the relevant assessment year for which you want to download the ITR-V.
- Access ITR-V: The ITR-V will be downloaded to your computer and can be opened from your downloads section.
- Post-Download Action (if not e-verified) [01:25]: If you have not e-verified your Income Tax Return, you need to print this document, sign it, and send it to CPC Bangalore.
