How to Remove Partner in GST Portal
You can remove a partner from your GST registration through the GST portal.1 Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. Log in to the GST Portal
Go to the GST portal (www.gst.gov.in) and log in using your credentials.
2. Access the Registration Amendment Page
- Navigate to Services > Registration > Amendment of Registration Core Fields.
3. Select the ‘Promoter/Partners’ Tab
- Click on the ‘Promoter/Partners’ tab. You’ll see the details of the partners listed in your GST registration.
4. Delete Partner Details
- Click the ‘DELETE’ button next to the partner you wish to remove.4
- You’ll be asked to provide a reason for the removal. Enter the reason and proceed.
5. Verify and Submit
- Important: You’ll need to verify the changes using either your Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or Electronic Verification Code (EVC).
- Once verified, submit your application.
6. Track Application Status
- You can track the status of your application by going to Services > Registration > Track Application Status.
Important Notes:
- Supporting Documents: You might need to upload supporting documents for the partner’s removal, such as a partnership deed amendment or a resolution passed by the partners.6
- Approval: The removal of a partner is subject to approval by the GST officer.
- Non-Core Fields: If you only need to update non-core fields like the partner’s address or contact details, you can do so without needing approval from a GST officer.7
