How to Remove Partner in GST Portal

You can remove a partner from your GST registration through the GST portal.1 Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Log in to the GST Portal

Go to the GST portal (www.gst.gov.in) and log in using your credentials.

2. Access the Registration Amendment Page

  • Navigate to Services > Registration > Amendment of Registration Core Fields.

3. Select the ‘Promoter/Partners’ Tab

  • Click on the ‘Promoter/Partners’ tab. You’ll see the details of the partners listed in your GST registration.

4. Delete Partner Details

  • Click the ‘DELETE’ button next to the partner you wish to remove.4
  • You’ll be asked to provide a reason for the removal. Enter the reason and proceed.

5. Verify and Submit

  • Important: You’ll need to verify the changes using either your Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or Electronic Verification Code (EVC).
  • Once verified, submit your application.

6. Track Application Status

  • You can track the status of your application by going to Services > Registration > Track Application Status.

Important Notes:

  • Supporting Documents: You might need to upload supporting documents for the partner’s removal, such as a partnership deed amendment or a resolution passed by the partners.6
  • Approval: The removal of a partner is subject to approval by the GST officer.
  • Non-Core Fields: If you only need to update non-core fields like the partner’s address or contact details, you can do so without needing approval from a GST officer.7

If you face any difficulties or have further questions, you can contact the GST helpdesk or consult with a GST expert.
