• Narkanda (170 km): If you’re willing to drive a bit further, Narkanda offers much more dramatic mountain views than Kasauli or Shimla. A trek up to Hatu Peak provides a 360-degree view of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges.

Adventure & Nature

• Rishikesh (210 km): April is one of the last good months for white-water rafting before the monsoon prep begins. It’s also great for camping by the Ganges or a quick trek to Neer Garh Waterfall.

• Prashar Lake (180 km): For something truly unique, this high-altitude lake features a floating island. It requires a bit of a trek (or a sturdy drive), but the 13th-century pagoda-style temple and the alpine scenery are unmatched.

A Quick Tip: Since it’s a Wednesday, booking a stay for this coming weekend now would be wise, as spots in Kasauli and Chail tend to fill up fast by Thursday evening!
