Schedule SI – Income Chargeable to Tax at Special Rates 2026-27
‘Schedule SI’ in the Income Tax Return (ITR) form captures income that is chargeable to tax at special rates under various provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This includes incomes such as certain capital gains, lottery winnings, unexplained income, and other categories that are not taxed at the normal slab rates.
This schedule is auto-populated based on the data provided in other schedules of the return (such as Schedule CG, Schedule OS, etc.) and does not require any separate input from the assessee. It consolidates all income items that are taxable at special rates and computes the tax accordingly.
The following details are reflected in this schedule:
- Section under which the income is taxable (e.g.,111A,112, 112A, 115BB, 115BBE, etc.)
- Special rate applicable on the income
- Taxable amount of such incomes
- Tax computed on such income
Schedule SI ensures that such income is appropriately segregated and taxed at the prescribed rates as per the applicable provisions. It facilitates transparent and accurate tax computation.
This schedule applies to ITR-2, ITR-3, ITR-5, ITR-6 and ITR-7.
