BOI CERTIFICATE FORMAT & TAX

BOI CERTIFICATE FORMAT & TAX

For Bank of India (BOI) customers and corporate clients, these forms are essential for tax planning, pension maintenance, and credit management.

Following the latest regulatory updates in early 2026, here is the breakdown of the certificates and tax forms you mentioned:

1. Corporate Limit Enhancement Format

For corporate banking (including Internet Banking), BOI uses a specific request framework to modify transaction or credit limits.

  • Request Letter: A formal application on the company’s letterhead, signed by authorized signatories as per the Board Resolution.

  • Multiple Global Limits: BOI now offers tiered limit packages for corporate customers (Standard, Silver, Gold, and Customized).

  • Annexures required:

    • Annexure III (Part A): The formal Global Limit Request Form.

    • Supplemental Agreement: If you are increasing limits for existing fund transfer facilities, a supplemental agreement for Internet Banking is often required.

  • Board Resolution: A fresh certified copy of the resolution authorizing the specific enhancement and the individuals permitted to operate the higher limits.

2. Pensioner Certificates (The “Annual Life Certificate” Bundle)

Pensioners must submit these annually (usually in November) to ensure the uninterrupted payout of their pension.

  • Life Certificate: A declaration that the pensioner is alive. This can now be submitted digitally via Jeevan Pramaan (biometric) or physically at a BOI branch.

  • Non-Marriage / Re-marriage Certificate: Required for family pensioners to certify they have not remarried, which would affect their eligibility.

  • Non-Employment / Re-employment Certificate: A declaration stating whether the pensioner has accepted any remunerative employment under the Government or a local fund.

3. FORM 60

  • Purpose: This is a declaration filed by an individual (or person, not being a company or firm) who does not have a Permanent Account Number (PAN) but enters into a high-value financial transaction (e.g., opening an account or a large cash deposit).

  • Requirements: You must provide a valid reason for not having a PAN and attach proof of identity/address (like an Aadhaar card or Voter ID).

4. New 15G & 15H (Tax Saving)

These forms are used to request that the bank not deduct TDS on interest income from Fixed Deposits or Recurring Deposits if your total income is below the taxable limit.

  • New 15G: For resident individuals (below 60 years) and HUFs.

  • New 15H: For resident individuals aged 60 years or older (Senior Citizens).

  • 2026 Update: As of April 2026, the Income Tax Department has introduced Form No. 121, which serves as a unified digital replacement/merger for 15G and 15H in many electronic filing systems, though physical 15G/H forms remain in use at branch counters.

  • Submission: These should be submitted at the start of every financial year (April) to avoid unnecessary tax deductions.
