Key Benefits & Reliefs
- Standard Deduction: Salaried individuals and pensioners can claim a flat deduction of ₹75,000.
- Section 87A Rebate: Resident individuals with a taxable income up to ₹12 lakh receive a rebate of up to ₹60,000, making their tax liability Zero.
- Effective Tax-Free Limit: Due to the combined standard deduction and rebate, salaried employees earning up to ₹12.75 lakh pay no tax.
- Marginal Relief: If your taxable income is slightly above ₹12 lakh (up to approx. ₹12.75 lakh), your tax is capped so it doesn’t exceed the extra income earned over the threshold.
- Surcharge & Cess:
- A 4% Health & Education Cess applies to the final tax amount.
