Q What is the HS code and GST rate for tamarind kernel?
1 In FAQs published on 3-8-2017 in leading dailies, it was clarified that tamarind kernel falls under HS code 1207 and attracts Nil GST.
2 It is, however, clarified that :—
(a)tamarind kernel of seed quality attracts Nil GST, whereas
(b) tamarind kernel of other than seed quality attracts 5% GST
