To download your filed Income Tax Return (ITR) or the ITR-V acknowledgement, you must log in to the official Income Tax Department e-Filing portal.

1. Log in: Visit the Income Tax e-Filing website and log in using your PAN/Aadhaar number as the User ID and your secure password.
2. Navigate to Returns: Click on the e-File tab, select Income Tax Returns, and then click on View Filed Returns.
3. Select Year: Locate the relevant Assessment Year (AY) from the list of filed returns displayed on the screen.
4. Download Files:
   • Click Download Form to save the complete ITR form as a PDF.
   • Click Download Receipt to obtain the ITR-V (Acknowledgement) receipt.

Downloaded PDF files are typically password-protected. Use the following format for the password:

• Format: Your PAN in lowercase followed by your Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format.
• Example: If your PAN is ABCDE1234F and your birth date is January 1, 1990, the password would be abcde1234f01011990.

• Form 26AS: Accessible under e-File > Income Tax Returns > View Form 26AS to view your tax credit statement.
• Annual Information Statement (AIS): Go to the Services tab and select Annual Information Statement (AIS) to download a comprehensive record of your financial transactions.
• Intimation Order: If your return has been processed, you can download the Intimation Order (u/s 143(1)) from the same “View Filed Returns” section.
