NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th January, 2017
S.R.O. 2(E).—Whereas the following draft of certain rules relating to the Cantonments (Forms and Manner of Service of Notices) Rules, 2016 was published as required under section 346 of the Cantonment Act, 2006 (41 of 2016), vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Defence, S.R.O. 10(E), dated the 5th August, 2016, in the Gazette of India, Part-II, Section 4, inviting objections and suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby till the expiry of a period of sixty days from the date of publication of the said notification;
Whereas, copies of the said Gazette notification were made available to the public on the 5th August, 2016;
And whereas no objections and suggestions were received from the public in respect of the said draft rules by the Central Government, even after the expiry of a period of sixty days;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 346 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.—
(1) These rules may be called the Cantonments (Forms and Manner of Service of Notices) Rules, 2017.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
