How to Create Files Directly in Gemini

The workflow is designed to be “invisible”—you don’t need to click complex menus; you just use natural language.

1. Describe the Content: Tell Gemini what you need (e.g., “Create a project timeline for a 3-month product launch”).

2. Specify the Format: Include the file type in your prompt (e.g., “…as a PDF” or “…in an Excel sheet”).

3. Refine and Export: Once Gemini generates the content, look for the Export or Download chip at the bottom of the response.

4. Save or Open: Choose to download the file directly to your device or save it to your Google Drive.

Supported File Formats

Gemini now supports a wide array of professional formats beyond basic text:

• Documents: Google Docs, Microsoft Word (.docx), PDF, RTF, and Plain Text (.txt).
