Google expanding Gemini in Chrome to users in the U.K.

Starting today, many of Chrome’s latest AI features are rolling out to desktop users in the U.K., expanding to iOS next month.

With Gemini in Chrome, you can chat with your personalized browsing assistant to summarize lengthy content, or compare information across multiple tabs. It’s deeply integrated with popular Google apps, meaning you can schedule meetings with Calendar, check location details with Maps, draft emails with Gmail and ask questions about YouTube videos, all without leaving the page you’re on.

Gemini in Chrome can remember context from past conversations, so you can get tailored answers when asking questions across the web, and uses Nano Banana 2 capabilities to transform images on the web with a simple text prompt.

All this is built with security in mind. Our models are trained to recognize known threats, like prompt injection, and include safeguards to ask for confirmation before completing sensitive actions.

How to Access It

Ensure your browser is updated to the latest version of Chrome.
Click the new “Ask Gemini” sparkle icon located in the top-right corner of the toolbar.
Alternatively, right-click on any webpage and select “Ask Gemini” from the context menu.
