How to download 26AS from Traces

You can download Form 26AS (Tax Credit Statement) by logging into the Income Tax e-Filing portal, which will redirect you securely to the TRACES website.

1. Login: Go to the e-Filing portal and log in using your PAN and password.
2. Navigate:
   • Click on the e-File tab.
   • Select Income Tax Returns > View Form 26AS.
3. Confirm Redirection: Click Confirm on the disclaimer to be redirected to the external TRACES (TDS-CPC) website.
4. Accept Terms: On the TRACES portal, check the box to agree to the terms and click Proceed.
5. View Tax Credit: Click the link at the bottom of the page titled View Tax Credit (Form 26AS).
6. Select Year and Format:
   • Select View As as HTML to see it on-screen first.

   Choose the relevant Assessment Year (e.g., 2024-25).

7. Download: Click View/Download and then click Export as PDF to save the file to your computer.

To open the downloaded PDF, use your Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format as the password (e.g., if your DOB is 01-Jan-1990, the password is 01011990).

• Net Banking: Many authorized banks like SBI, ICICI, and HDFC allow you to view Form 26AS directly through their net banking portal if your PAN is linked to the account.
• Direct TRACES Login: If you are already registered as a taxpayer on TRACES, you can log in directly at tdscpc.gov.in as Taxpayer and can download form 26as
