The XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition packs 25 years of design into every detail. For the first time, see through the back case and battery door, revealing the classic XBOX logo. Original-color ABXY buttons bring the past forward, while the green XBOX button calls back to the moment the first green “X” burst onto the scene. Coming October 2026.

Microsoft officially unveiled the Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, introducing a nostalgic, hardware-focused tribute to celebrate a quarter-century of the gaming brand. [1]

Hardware Highlights

The collection does not introduce any performance upgrades over the standard flagship models, but it heavily revises the physical aesthetic as an homage to the original 2001 system: [2, 3]

Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition Console: Features a translucent “OG Green” chassis inspired by the iconic rare green original Xbox. The classic “X” symbol lights up in green on power-up, mimicking the original console startup. It includes custom anniversary branding on the front plate and 1TB of storage. [2, 3, 4]
Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition: Features a matching translucent green front shell. The face buttons adopt the original retro ABXY color palette. The top bumpers are designed to honor the classic black-and-white face buttons found on the massive “Duke” controller.
