You’ll be able to securely link and interact with your go-to services directly in AI Mode.

You can already connect some of your favorite services to the Gemini app, and now, to help you get even more done, we’re enabling you to directly connect your apps in Search.

Starting to roll out this week in the U.S., you can securely link and interact with some of your go-to services right in AI Mode. Here’s a look at how these integrations in Search can streamline your day:

Let’s say you’re planning a barbecue and using AI Mode for help with your grocery list. If you connect Instacart, you can add the ingredients straight into your Instacart shopping cart and check out with just a few taps on their app or website.

With Personal Intelligence and your connected apps, Search can give even more tailored responses.

Or, if you’re working on a project where you need some design concepts – like creating a flyer – you can ask Canva to show you some template options.

Want to build the perfect soundtrack for your next party? You can use AI Mode to curate a playlist, instantly save it to YouTube Music and press play to start the celebration.

How to Connect Third-Party Apps

Third-party integrations like Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music connect automatically through context prompts while you search: [1, 3, 4]

Open the Google app on your mobile device or visit google.com/ai on the web. [3]
Access AI Mode. [3]
Type an action-oriented prompt targeting an external app (e.g., “Add ingredients for lasagna to an Instacart cart” or “Create a retro flyer in Canva”). [1, 3]
Tap Connect or Continue when the system prompts you to link your external account. [3]

How to Connect Google Content Apps

Linking your primary Google apps allows Search to use your personal history—such as flight details or restaurant reservations—to tailor its responses to your specific needs: [2]

Navigate to your Google Account Settings. [5]
Locate the Search Services Personalization section. [6]
Ensure Personalized Recommendations is turned on. [6]
Under Additional Personal Intelligence, select Connected Content Apps. [6]
Click Connect next to the available services, such as Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar) or Google Photos. [2, 6]

How to Manage Existing Links

You can audit or disconnect linked external platforms at any time by visiting the Google Account Connected Apps Portal to revoke permissions securely. [7]
