CBIC Introduces Enhanced Warehouse Licensing & MOOWR/MOOSWR Registration Module on ICEGATE 2.0

Issue: To simplify the process for manufacturers and businesses to submit applications and obtain licenses/permissions for operating Customs-bonded warehouses under the MOOWR and MOOSWR schemes, the CBIC launched an improved, fully digital module.

Facts:

• The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) launched the updated module on the ICEGATE 2.0 platform.

• The module is applicable for obtaining licenses under Section 57, 58, 58A (public, private, special warehouses) and permissions for manufacturing operations under Section 65 (MOOWR/MOOSWR) of the Customs Act.

The CBIC launched an enhanced and user-friendly Warehouse Licensing and MOOWR/MOOSWR Registration Module on ICEGATE 2.0, providing a fully digital, structured system for the entire application and approval process.
