ICAI restricted revocation of the UDINs within 48 hours for CAs

Dear Professional Colleagues,

This is regarding the implementation of the decision restricting revocation of the UDINs to 48 hours as decided in 420th Council meeting held on 23rd-24th March, 2023.

The functionality will be implemented at UDIN Portal w.e.f midnight of 23^rd June, 2023. Thereafter, members will not be able to revoke the UDINs after expiry of 48 hours from their generation time henceforth.

The authorities/regulators/banks/others, who verify the authenticity of the UDINs would be provided with information that the UDIN, which is being verified, could only be revoked within 48 hours from the time it has been generated.

Accordingly, the following specific messages would be displayed to the verifier:

• CA is entitled to revoke the UDIN, if he so desires, on or before “Date/Time”. You may like to verify this particular UDIN after “Date/Time”.
• This UDIN can’t be revoked any more.
