NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 25th September, 2026

.O. 5303(E).— Whereas, the Central Government, under sub-section (1) of section 73 of the Indian Ports Act, 2025 (27 of 2025), notified the criteria for classification of a port as mega port; and whereas, the major ports of Deendayal (Kandla), Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva), Paradip, and Mundra Port, a port other than the major ports, satisfy the said criteria.

2. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 73 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby notifies the major ports of Deendayal (Kandla), Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva), Paradip, and Mundra Port as mega ports.

3. It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
