Take our I/O 2026 quiz, vibe coded in Google AI Studio.

Heads up, builders and devs: You can test your knowledge of our I/O 2026 announcements with this vibe coded quiz built in Google AI Studio.

In case you missed it, at Google I/O 2026, we announced new ways and places you can use Google AI Studio. With Google AI Studio, powered by the Antigravity coding agent, you can bring ideas to life with the latest Gemini models even if you’re not a seasoned developer.

As a case in point, I vibe coded this quiz myself — and I’m an editor with zero coding background, not a developer. To make the quiz, I used Gemini to generate a prompt for Google AI Studio to build the exact quiz I envisioned. I uploaded sources including announcements and design inspiration. Gemini delivered a helpful, creative, highly specific prompt I took to Google AI Studio. I refined the prompt based on the previews, and added the actual quiz text.

Check out the quiz to get to know Google AI Studio, then try building something yourself.

The Google I/O 2026 Quiz is the perfect proof-of-concept for one of the event’s most talked-about themes: vibe coding.

Instead of being built by a team of software engineers, the quiz was “vibe coded” in Google AI Studio by a Google editor with zero formal programming experience. By simply providing Gemini with a high-level description, design inspiration, and the I/O 2026 announcement text, the AI automatically generated the functional code, UI, and logic.

If you are ready to test your knowledge of this year’s keynotes while checking out what AI Studio can do, here is a breakdown of the new features that made it possible.

🛠️ The New “Build Mode” Toolkit

The quiz leverages several full-stack upgrades introduced to Google AI Studio at I/O 2026, aimed at moving a project from a simple text prompt to a production-ready application in minutes:

  • The Antigravity Coding Agent: This is the underlying engine driving the new experience. It maintains a deep, persistent understanding of your entire project architecture, meaning it can handle multi-step edits and complex project structures from simple, natural language commands.

  • Visual Annotation & Markup: If a button is misaligned or a font looks off in the Live Preview, creators can use a built-in edit tool to draw a box right over the UI, point an arrow, and type instructions like “make this section neon blue.”

  • Voice Inputs (Spoken Vibe): You can literally speak your edits into existence. Clicking the microphone lets you give conversational feedback, such as “speed up the transitions and add a subtle fade-in effect.”

  • One-Click Deployment: Once the quiz looked right in the preview window, the creator deployed it globally with a single click to Google Cloud Run, transforming the private playground draft into a live, public website.

🧠 What the Quiz Covers

If you are diving into the quiz, expect questions highlighting the massive shifts announced across Google’s developer and consumer ecosystems:

  • The Expansion of Vibe Coding: Features like native Android app building directly within the browser, production-ready Kotlin generation via Jetpack Compose, and built-in emulator testing.

  • Workspace Integrations: Creating tools inside AI Studio that can pull live data from Google Sheets or securely organize files across Google Drive.

  • Model Upgrades: Questions highlighting the capabilities of the newly showcased Gemini models, including native multi-modal operations.

Want to build your own? Anyone can use the platform for free. You can start by describing your idea from scratch or by hitting “Remix” on existing gallery projects to tweak their design and logic using plain English.

For a step-by-step visual introduction to building apps entirely through natural language and voice, you can watch the Vibe Coding Conversational Agents Tutorial. This video provides a direct look at the Google AI Studio environment, demonstrating how to iterate on an app’s design and logic before deploying it to a public URL.
