Our latest Google Finance upgrades, including a new app
With new updates to Google Finance, you can track your investment portfolio and stay on top of market intel. Plus, we’re introducing a new Android app.
Investing is complex, but staying informed shouldn’t be. Starting this week, the new Google Finance is coming out of beta, with several new capabilities to help you better track and understand financial investments – plus a new Android app to help you on the go.
Track your own investment portfolio
Starting this week, we’re rolling out portfolios globally in the new Google Finance, and they’re more helpful than ever, with new, powerful insights tailored to your investments.
You’ll see all your investments consolidated in a single dashboard that shows performance data, as well as insights on your asset allocation and more. Your existing Google Finance portfolios will be available automatically, or you can create a new one by dropping in screenshots or uploading files (like CSVs or PDFs) that detail your holdings. You can even just describe your investments to get started and build from there.
Once your portfolio is set up, it’s easy to dive deeper with the research tool. Try asking questions like “what sectors are currently underrepresented in my portfolio?” or “how does my fixed income allocation impact my long-term growth potential?”.
Stay updated on market intel
Today, we’re launching a new way for Google Finance to keep you updated on the topics you care about. To get started, describe a task like, “Send me a daily pre-market briefing analyzing significant overnight moves across major cryptocurrencies.”
You can edit the schedule or instructions however you like, including using your watchlist or portfolio to get insights tailored to your own investments. Once it’s set up, Google Finance gets to work in the background to find exactly what you need and deliver a custom briefing on your preferred schedule.
When your update is ready, you’ll receive a notification through the Google app for Android or iOS. Notifications will also appear in the research panel in Google Finance on the web, where you can also view and edit your existing tasks.
This new capability is now available globally, so you can start testing it out today.
Try the new Google Finance app
Today, we’re also launching a new Google Finance app for Android, bringing the core of our new experience directly into your pocket. For people who find themselves checking in on the market multiple times per day, the new app is a dedicated place to easily access your watchlist, as well as real-time data, a live financial news feed, the AI research tool and AI-powered “key moments” that explain why a stock moved.
Over the coming months, we’ll bring more capabilities from the web experience into the mobile app, including live earnings calls and today’s new portfolio and task features. And later this year, we’ll also launch an app for iOS, so even more people will have easy access to Google Finance on the go.
Check out the new Google Finance today for the tools and insights you need to navigate the markets with confidence.
