DGFT Expands Eligibility for ‘Source from India’ E-Platform
Issue: To enable a wider base of accomplished Indian exporters to showcase their products and credentials to international buyers, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) revised the eligibility criteria for the “Source from India” service on its Trade Connect ePlatform.
Facts:
- The “Source from India” platform serves as a vital digital resource for international buyers seeking accomplished Indian exporters.
- The service initially restricted registration to only Status Holder exporters.
- The DGFT decided to amend the criteria to include more reliable exporters to increase the platform’s utility and promote Indian exports.
Decision:
The DGFT issued a Trade Notice revising the eligibility criteria for the “Source from India” platform to include a broader category of exporters, effective November 1, 2025.
Key TakeDowns:
- Expanded Eligibility: Effective November 1, 2025, eligibility for creating a microsite on the “Source from India” service is expanded to include:
- All valid IECs (Import Export Codes) that are not in the Denied Entities List (DEL).
- Exporters who have achieved a minimum export realization of USD 100,000 in at least one of the previous three financial years at the time of application.
- Reference Data: The DGFT eBRC (Electronic Bank Realization Certificate) database will serve as the sole reference point for export realization data to determine eligibility. * Streamlined Onboarding: Eligible exporters whose profiles are linked to eligible IECs will automatically see the option for “Source from India” microsite creation on their dashboard.
- Global Promotion: Indian Missions Abroad have been sensitized to actively use “Source from India” as a key reference point for foreign buyers seeking Indian suppliers, boosting the visibility of newly eligible exporters.
