Reimagine is an AI-powered YouTube Shorts tool that allows users to transform a single video frame from an eligible Short into an entirely new 8-second video. Powered by Google’s Gemini Omni and Veo generation models, it lets creators type text prompts or use reference photos to completely alter scenes.

How the Reimagine Tool Works

The feature is designed to be highly intuitive, turning static moments into completely new visual styles or contexts.

Select a Frame: While watching an eligible Short, tap the Remix button and select Reimagine. You can drag through the timeline to pick the exact starting frame.
Add Your Prompt: Type out a custom prompt (e.g., “turn the background into an anime landscape” or “make it look like a high-budget sci-fi movie”) or select from Gemini-suggested ideas.
Upload References: You can optionally upload up to two reference photos from your gallery to insert yourself, your pet, or specific objects into the scene.
Generate & Share: Tap the arrow to generate an 8-second video with its own AI-created audio. After reviewing, edit further with native Shorts tools before publishing.
