Google Flow brings new creative control features to enhance video editing.
At Google I/O, we launched Gemini Omni Flash in Google Flow, bringing new video editing capabilities to creatives. Today we’re rolling out updates via Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash to give you even more creative control, helping you craft more polished and production-ready videos in Google Flow.
- More creative control with start and end frames. This helps keep the characters and narrative consistent as you thoughtfully transition between frames.
- Elevate your rough cuts into polished pieces. Export crisp video in 1080p or 4K, ready for high-end digital, social, or broadcast editing workflows.
- Draft videos quickly and upscale for quality. Test out concepts and compositions at a faster, lower-credit 360p resolution before committing to a full-resolution render. Once you have a clip you’re happy with, you can then download it in 720p resolution. This is particularly helpful in the Google Flow app — you can quickly draft videos on your phone on the go, and upscale your favorite versions.
Starting today, all of these new capabilities are available in Google Flow.
- Precise Start and End Frames: Creators can now upload specific starting and ending images to guide the VO 3.1 model. The AI thoughtfully handles the transition between them, ensuring character continuity and plot progression remain perfectly seamless across scene cuts. [1, 2, 3]
- Low-Resolution 360p Draft Mode: To save processing credits, users can rapidly test out compositions, pacing, and concepts at a faster 360p resolution. Once satisfied with the quick mock-up, the clip can be downloaded at 720p or queued up for full-resolution rendering. [1, 2]
- High-End 1080p and 4K Exporting: Rough cuts can be instantly upscaled into polished, professional-grade outputs. The platform supports exporting crisp video in 1080p and 4K, making the clips ready for high-end digital, social media, or traditional broadcast editing workflows. [1]
- Mobile-to-Studio Pipeline: Through the official Google Flow App, users can draft video compositions on their phones while on the go and later upscale their favorite versions into final studio pieces. [1]
- Mondo Sónico: Created by Ricardo Villavicencio and Sebastián Carvallo, this tool automatically generates and synchronizes contextual background ambiance, foley, and sound effects across separate, editable tracks. [4]
- CaptionCast: Developed by digital storyteller Jay Pirabakaran, this feature runs a single-pass pipeline that transcribes, styles, and animates multilingual captions in seconds to eliminate manual subtitling. [4]
