NCEF's committing $10 million toward Nevada’s cleaner

NCEF’s committing $10 million toward Nevada’s cleaner, more affordable energy future.

Today, we’re announcing a $10 million Energy Impact Fund (EIF) to support energy innovation and affordability in Nevada. As part of this investment, we’re providing $5 million to the Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) to help families within our data center communities lower their utility bills and improve home health and safety.

These funds will go to support NCEF’s Residential Energy Upgrade Program (RE-UP), which brings free weatherization and energy efficiency improvements to households who face financial barriers to home upgrades but don’t qualify for existing assistance programs.

Across our data center communities in North and South Nevada, these investments will reduce monthly energy bills and deliver meaningful public health and grid resiliency benefits for participating families and their surrounding communities — at no cost to Nevada’s residents. We’re proud to partner with NCEF today, and look forward to announcing our next grant later this year.

Actually, it is Google that is committing $10 million toward Nevada’s clean energy future, rather than NCEF alone. [1]

On September 15, 2026, Google announced a new $10 million Energy Impact Fund (EIF) aimed at accelerating energy innovation and affordability across Nevada. [1, 2]

The funding is being rolled out in partnership with the state’s green bank, the Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF). The first half of this commitment breaks down into specific initiatives: [1]

$5 Million to RE-UP: Google is providing an initial $5 million to support NCEF’s Residential Energy Upgrade Program (RE-UP). This money will provide free weatherization, pre-weatherization repairs, and energy efficiency upgrades to lower-income families living near Google’s data center communities in Northern and Southern Nevada. [1, 2, 3]
$5 Million Future Allocation: Google will distribute the remaining $5 million of the fund later in the year to support further energy innovation across the state. [1, 2]

The primary goal of the initiative is to bridge affordability gaps for Nevada families who face steep upfront costs for crucial home repairs but do not otherwise qualify for traditional public assistance programs. [1, 2]
