The June 5, 2026, Google Workspace Updates rollout introduced significant enhancements to Gemini integration, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and document scanning. [1]
The primary updates include:
- Gmail Sources in Ask Gemini: Gmail is now a generally available data source in Ask Gemini in Drive. Users can engage in high-context, multi-turn conversations encompassing both Drive and Gmail documents within an immersive workspace. [1]
- Organize My Files in Drive: Graduating from its October 2025 beta, this feature is now generally available for eligible Workspace and Google AI plans, streamlining file management. [1]
- Document Scanner in Android: The Google Drive app on Android now supports multi-page scanning, allowing users to scan numerous pages into a single document in one session. [1]
- Enhanced Data Protection & DLP: New DLP rules are generally available, covering non-Workspace file attachments and Calendar event details. Admins can block specific file formats, identify file strings, and protect sensitive information shared in Calendar events. Furthermore, data moves securely between corporate Workspace accounts and authorized third-party apps without being blocked. [1]
- Expanded Workspace Studio: Google Workspace Studio flows now support the ability to loop over lists of items, providing greater flexibility for building everyday automated workflows. [1]
