Google for Brazil 2026: Helping people make the most of AI

Google for Brazil 2026: Helping people make the most of AI
Today at our annual Google for Brazil event, we showcased how our most advanced AI products and platforms are helping Brazilians thrive: from Gemini acting as your personal assistant to specialized AI experiences. We continue to invest in the country by expanding our engineering footprint, making our latest AI tools accessible and providing training for Brazilians to succeed.
Bringing more AI capabilities to Brazil
AI is changing the way people search for information, study, interact with businesses and explore new entertainment. Now, we’re bringing more of these tools to Brazil to enhance these experiences and simplify daily tasks. Here’s a look at some of our announcements:
- Ask Maps—arriving in Brazil in Portuguese—is transforming exploration into a simple conversation by bringing together the world’s freshest map with our Gemini models. Brazilians can ask for things like “Find me places nearby with great pastéis that accept meal vouchers” and get recommendations with a customized map. Rolling out now to top Local Guides, and to everyone in July.
Ask Maps
- Gemini in Chrome is expanding to Brazil. It allows users to chat with a personalized browsing assistant that can summarize lengthy content, compare information across multiple tabs and more.

- To help students prepare for the ENEM—the entrance exam for public universities in Brazil—we’re launching free, on-demand practice tests directly inside the Gemini app and in AI Mode next month. Gemini can help identify knowledge gaps, generate customized study plans and prepare quick practice sessions.
- We’re bringing agentic capabilities to AI Mode in Search, helping people book and manage restaurant reservations through a conversational experience.
- Ask Studio is now available to most YouTube creators in Brazil, in Portuguese. This AI creative partner integrated into YouTube Studio helps summarize comments and feedback from videos, understand channel stats, and brainstorm ideas and outlines for next productions.
- We’re introducing new Gemini app features tailored for small businesses, turning the app into a deeply knowledgeable partner that understands your brand. Gemini connects with the Google Business Profile and uses real-time performance data to deliver tailored recommendations.
Helping Brazilians enjoy the FIFA World Cup 2026™
This is the first time there’s been a FIFA World Cup since we’ve made AI tools widely available in our products. At Google for Brazil, we showed how AI can bring the tournament to life and help fans enjoy this global cultural experience. Some of the latest announcements include:
- It’s now easier to follow every moment across our products like Search, AI Mode in Search, Maps, Waze and the Gemini app. The experience includes real-time information about the games, like visuals for live scores or lineups. You can pin the live score on your mobile device, get updates of your favorite team, and see “where to watch” guides customized to the Brazilian audience.
- Google DeepMind is bringing its cutting-edge AI football tactics assistant, TacticAI, to Brazil in collaboration with Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras and the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF). This tool aims to demonstrate the potential of assistive AI techniques to revolutionize sports.
Strengthening AI education in Brazil
AI tools can only go as far as people use them. That’s why we’re investing in providing training to more Brazilians. Through Google.org we announced over $1 million ($5 million reais) to expand the Experience AI program in Brazil. Created by Google DeepMind and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and implemented by Sincroniza Educação, the program will help educators teach students how AI works and how to use it ethically, safely and responsibly. Here’s what else we’re doing:
- We are expanding the AI Futures Fund to Brazil and launching Gama Fund in partnership with the venture capital firm Monashees. Through this initiative, together we’ll invest up to $2 million in five AI-first startups and offer technical support.
- We’re granting 100,000 new scholarships for Google Career Certificates in Brazil, to be distributed by Centro de Integração Empresa-Escola (CIEE). This will give students access to courses like the Google AI Professional Certificate.
- We partnered with non-profit Sebrae, Itaú bank and education platform Tera in the program “Negócio em dIA”, offering training to over 1 million SMBs in Google AI tools.
- We’re broadening access to our premium AI tools by partnering with Itaú to offer Gemini AI Plus free trials as part of the bank’s loyalty program.
- We’re also offering Gemini AI Plus free trials in partnership with the telco Vivo.
- Google Cloud is tripling its commitment to train Brazilians in AI and cloud technologies, to 3 million people in the coming years. We’ll also host a session in September to train 200,000 people in one day.

Large-Scale Education & Workforce Training
- Tripled Training Commitment: Google Cloud officially expanded its initial goal of preparing 1 million Brazilians to train 3 million people in AI and cloud technologies over the coming years. [3]
- The “Capacita+” Milestone: Following a Guinness World Record for the largest hybrid AI class in 2025, a new edition of the Capacita+ program will take place on September 25, 2026, aiming to train 200,000 people in a single day via partnerships with 100+ universities. [3]
- Gamified Learning & Job Fairs: The initiative integrates The Arcade Facilitator Program—which turns technical cloud labs into a game-based journey in Portuguese—and dedicated job fairs to connect newly certified tech talent directly with recruiting companies. [3]
Youth Literacy & Public Sector Frameworks
- “Experience AI” Expansion: Google.org announced more than R$ 5 million (Brazilian Reais) in funding to deploy the Experience AI program across Brazil. In partnership with the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Sincroniza Educação, it will equip local educators with the tools to safely teach foundational AI concepts to young students. [2]
- Public Sector Integration: Google is partnering with government bodies to train civil servants and public sector leaders. This focus includes optimizing governance frameworks and addressing infrastructure gaps to safely deploy AI models within Brazil’s justice and administrative systems. [4]
Tailored Product & Startup Ecosystems
- Localized Gemini Support: The rollout focuses on making Gemini act as a localized personal assistant, enhancing native Portuguese interactions, and improving safety and context parameters specifically for Brazilian users. [1, 5]
- Google for Startups Accelerator: The event highlighted ongoing structural support via the Google for Startups Accelerator Brazil, a 10-week hybrid program designed to give early-stage Brazilian tech companies equity-free access to Google’s AI stacks, expert mentorship, and advanced product testing.
