Why B3 chose Android for secure AI-enabled productivity

B3 chose Android Enterprise for its mobile workforce

Why B3 chose Android for secure AI-enabled productivity

Android Enterprise and Samsung helped B3, the Brazilian stock exchange, securely scale mobile device management and AI capabilities for its management workforce.

Editor’s note: Today’s post is by Raul Chavarria at B3. B3 is the Brazilian stock exchange and a complete market infrastructure provider, offering services ranging from equities and fixed income to vehicle leasing control.

Read the full story to learn how Android Enterprise enabled B3 to:

  • Deploy a secure, compliant mobile solution to 1,000 employees in just two weeks
  • Improve security with AI threat detection, Managed Google Play and more
  • Empower employees with 24/7 connectivity using devices with longer-lasting batteries
  • Project 30% cost savings over the next 10 years

As a regulated financial institution, maintaining strong security and compliance standards is a top priority for B3. So it’s a tall order to provide our employees with mobile devices that enable constant availability and productivity while meeting extremely strict regulatory requirements.

We selected Android Enterprise for its multi-layered security, including hardware cryptography, app sandboxing and AI threat detection. Android and Samsung also offer a budget-friendly price point without compromising performance, ensuring a consistent experience for everyone from frontline staff to executives. This choice followed extensive testing of both ecosystems across all benchmarks.

Enabling fast, secure, self-serve deployment

Previously, device rollouts required significant coordination and in-person support, which extended deployment timelines and created operational complexity. By partnering with Samsung as the device provider and using Android Enterprise zero-touch enrollment, we were able to equip most of our workforce — including our fully managed mobile fleet and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) employees — in less than two weeks.

Once a device is turned on, our IT team can manage it through a centralized dashboard and control policies for all devices to ensure security. And with Managed Google Play, we can control where and how apps are distributed — another tool for maintaining safety and security.

Securely equipping a workforce

Our operations teams need to be available 24/7, and battery duration used to be a major pain point. Additionally, our employees struggled to read messages on small, 5-inch screens.

When we switched to Android, we provided our workforce with lightweight devices featuring 7-inch screens, superior refresh rates and longer-lasting batteries. Employee feedback has been highly positive, as the new devices comfortably support a wide range of business applications. This keeps our mostly office-based team securely connected through various internal and third-party web apps.

Embracing AI and cutting costs

At B3, we are actively expanding our use of AI to boost management productivity, shifting from an experimental phase to a more “agentic” approach. Our employees love the built-in Google Gemini on Android AI features. These capabilities support content creation, information access, task optimization, and more, contributing to a more agile and responsive work environment.

Financially, this shift is also incredibly beneficial. Over the next decade, we’ve projected cost savings of around 30% by choosing Android. These savings will enable us to comfortably perform more refresh cycles over this timeframe, keeping our employees equipped with brand-new hardware.

B3 is a tech-focused company, constantly experimenting with new innovations, ranging from AI agents to super low-latency data centers. With Android devices and the exceptional support we’ve received from Google and Samsung, we can easily maintain compliance and ensure our workforce has the secure, cutting-edge tools they need to drive our business forward.

Why B3 chose Android for secure AI-enabled productivity

Check out what’s new in Android 17

B3 (the Brazilian stock exchange) transitioned its management workforce to Android Enterprise to securely scale mobile productivity and harness next-generation AI capabilities. As a heavily regulated financial institution, B3 needed a mobile infrastructure that could maintain strict compliance while offering high performance. [1, 2]
B3 chose Android alongside Samsung hardware for several critical reasons: [1, 2]

🛡️ Multi-Layered, Regulatory-Grade Security

  • AI Threat Detection: Android’s built-in, AI-powered systems proactively spot and mitigate security risks and mobile scams before they impact sensitive financial data. [1, 3]
  • Granular Enterprise Control: The platform allows B3’s IT administrators to enforce strict containerized work profiles, preventing data leaks by restricting clipboard actions between personal and corporate boundaries. [2]
  • Hardware Isolation: Leveraging hardware-level cryptography, app sandboxing, and Samsung’s Knox architecture securely seals off financial applications and user data. [1, 4]

⚡ Rapid Deployment & Efficient Scaling

  • Zero-Touch Enrollment: B3 deployed secure, compliant, and AI-ready devices to 1,000 employees in just two weeks.
  • Streamlined Provisioning: The IT team leveraged Android’s modern device management to onboard employees with minimal friction and automated network and policy setups. [1, 5]

📈 Enhanced Employee Productivity

  • All-Day Connectivity: The transition provided employees with lightweight, high-refresh-rate devices featuring 7-inch displays and longer battery life to support 24/7 availability. [1, 6]
  • Unified Workspace: Secure deployment via Managed Google Play ensured frontline staff and executives had access to optimized business and AI productivity tools without sacrificing device speed. [1, 5]

💰 Significant Long-Term Cost Efficiency

  • 30% Projected Savings: B3 expects to cut operational and device management costs by nearly a third over the next 10 years.
  • Optimized Price-to-Performance: Combining Android’s enterprise ecosystem with Samsung hardware allowed B3 to avoid premium ecosystem lock-ins while retaining top-tier computational and security standards. [1, 7] from Why B3 chose Android
